The 8th Annual Coastal Plain Meander River Trip

Coastal Plain Meander Dates: Saturday September 3 - Sunday September 4, 2011

If you would like to participate in this year's river trip, contact us and one of our friendly staff members will get back with you within the next 24 hours.

Trip down the placed Savannah River on the Island ExplorerCPM is an educational and relaxing trip on the river. The Coastal Plain Meander is an ecotourism venture that generates the funds that support the river conservation efforts of the Savannah Riverkeeper, Inc. This is the 8th year of its existence and its popularity grows every year. Click here to see GPB's Georgia Outdoors - Green Getaway episode of our Coastal Plain Meander and see what a couple of people from last year's trip thought about the experience.

Savannah's own Bull River Cruises will once again be providing the transportation on their Coast Guard inspected vessel, the Island Express. Her passengers will leave the historical Riverfront Marina and Warehouse, and embark on one of the most unique and educational trips around. The Island Express will carry her passengers down the beautiful Savannah River, where wildlife abounds and humans are few and far between. Passengers will have the opportunity to learn about the importance of the river, her inhabitants, past and present, and the challenges and dangers that she is currently facing.

This journey departs from Augusta’s Riverfront Marina and concludes at the docks of Savannah’s River Street. The trip has been changed this year to a 2-day, 1 night trip. All packages include meals, ground transportation, and either camping or cabin accommodations. Participants will be returned by ground transportation back to Augusta. For an extra fee, participant's automobiles can be shuttled down to Savannah instead. The Costal Plain Meander offers an opportunity to get to really know the river that we all depend on and to learn how she is used and sometimes abused, all in a truly relaxed setting. Space is limited.
