Government:
In the world of water quality advocacy the relationships with various government entities is vitally important. Indeed, water quality advocacy is (and should be) a government function. The Riverkeeper views its role in water quality advocacy twofold: to push back against the forces that would pollute our rivers and streams to transfer the expense of doing business to the public by dumping their wastes in our water resource and to act as the eyes, ears and noses of the agencies charged to protect the quality of our water resource to help offset the lack of funding that these agencies endure year after year. We need volunteers for all of the projects listed to help protect our resource.
Corporate:
The Riverkeeper’s relationships with the corporate world vary widely from those wonderful corporations who financially support our work voluntarily to those who support our work involuntarily by becoming examples of how not to treat our water resources. The Riverkeeper appreciates the direct voluntary support of Patagonia and Yahoo.
