Picture
THE CHALLENGE WAS A HUGE SUCCESS!  THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO HELPED MAKE IT POSSIBLE!

Tonya officially ended her journey up river on March 15th- after spending over 2 weeks traveling up the Savannah River!  She made some new friends along the way, captured some amazing footage, and raised some much-needed funds for the Riverkeeper!

A RIVER IS A TERRIBLE THING TO WASTE!

Riverkeeper Tonya Bonitaibus is serious about bringing public awareness to the Savannah River.  In fact, she is so passionate about the vitality of the river, that she has agreed to travel by boat from Tybee Island  all the way up river to Augusta to spread the word about the wonders of the Savannah.

But there's a catch- she can only move 1 mile up river for every $200 we raise!  Our goal is to raise 40,000 to continue our efforts to protect your Savannah River.  That's right- Tonya will virtually live on the SRK Carolina Skiff boat while she moves incrementally up river.  She will stop at cities and towns along the way to deliver presentations about the Savannah River ecology, as well as drop in for a few parties celebrating her journey!

The start date?  March 1st.  The distance?  Over 200 miles!

All of us here at the Savannah Riverkeeper have faith in Tonya's mission- but we cannot do it alone!  We currently need volunteers to assist us with on-the-ground efforts along the way.

If you aren't able to volunteer- you could help Tonya by making a donation and beginning her journey back to Augusta!
