VETERANS FOR CLEAN WATER

VFCW is an effort to provide veterans with meaningful opportunities for skill development and volunteering. We have a highly-trained network of water defenders making a difference.
LEARN MORE

ADOPT-A-STREAM

LEARN MORE
Georgia Adopt-A-Stream is a volunteer-based water quality monitoring program managed by the Georgia Environmental Protection Division. It empowers individuals and groups to protect Georgia’s waterways through hands-on involvement in data collection, education, and community stewardship. Volunteers adopt sections of streams, rivers, lakes, or wetlands, where they monitor water quality indicators such as chemical composition, biological diversity, and physical characteristics.

The program aims to increase public awareness of water quality issues, promote a sense of ownership among citizens, and encourage proactive environmental protection. Training workshops, resources, and certification opportunities are provided to help participants effectively monitor and improve water health in their communities.

KNOW YOUR RIVER

LEARN MORE
Know Your River is a cooperative effort to democratize all water quality data starting with the Ogeechee and Savannah Rivers. This site contains all known data points and studies collected to date and includes Federal, State, Local, and Citizen Collected Data.

HEALTHY COMMUNITIES AUGUSTA

LEARN MORE
Healthy Communities Augusta was founded in May 2023 when seven prominent organizations united to transform Augusta’s River Region and reclaim it from decades of industrial exploitation. Long treated as a chemical dumping ground, the 30901 and 30906 areas have faced environmental injustices that inspired our collective action. We are committed to reshaping how these communities are represented, empowering residents through advocacy, and strengthening resilience. Through initiatives like KnowYourRiver and EPA training, we equip community members with tools to access data, share their stories, and demand change. Together, we strive for a healthier, more just Augusta.

POLLUTION SOLUTIONS IN SAVANNAH

LEARN MORE
Litter is an ongoing issue in the Savannah River Watershed, particularly in the lower region around Savannah. With the goals of reducing litter and raising public awareness for alternative solutions, Savannah Riverkeeper has launched two programs to stop litter before and after it enters the environment and make data publicly available.
