Our world is starting to see the inescapable effects of a pileup of plastic pollution in our communities and waterways. Often, the first ones to suffer and even die from its effects are the wildlife we love. If there's any silver lining, it's that the striking images of animals harmed by litter can move people to action. Click to see some of the most memorable and heartbreaking cases that went viral.
